Q21: Black Queer Students on Mental Health

Join the Sexual and Gender Diversity Office for an open and reflective discussion about mental health for Black queer students. Speakers include:

  • Carae Henry (they/she) is a student leader, Community Assistant with UTM Residence and Equity Outreach Network, and co-founder for Prism – a QTBIPOC group and;
  • Mi(Chelle) Yvonne Carter (they/she) is the president of the Sexual Diversity Studies Student Union and research assistant at the Queer Trans Research Lab, exploring Black queer space-making of early ‘70s to mid-’80s Toronto.

Additionally, students will have the chance to share their experiences, share what supports they would like to see, and collectively discuss ways folks can support and center Black voices and mental health resources.

*This event is open to faculty, staff, students and external community who identify as queer or trans.
