Attendees engaged in a keynote presentation and film screening that explored strategies, stories and resources to address anti-Black racism as it intersects with forms of gender-based discrimination.
This event included a keynote presentation from Professor Moya Bailey (picture below), School of Communication, Northwestern University on their book Misogynoir Transformed: Black Women’s Digital Resistance.
Attendees engaged in a screening and discussion of the documentary HERStory in Black, which shares the experiences of 150 women who excel in their field who push for greater diversity and who help build vibrant communities.

Attendees engaged in a facilitated space of dialogue and movement that celebrated Black joy and honored shared strength. This virtual restorative space was facilitated by Yamikani Msosa and Hill Studio. This session was not recorded.
The Future of Campus Safety Through an Antiracism Lens

Attendees engaged in a keynote presentation that discussed the role of community in establishing safety practices and role all levels of the university can play in re-envisioning safety practices through an antiracism lens. The keynote speaker at the event was Professor Akwasi Owusu-Bempah (picture below), Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto.
